Portfolio demo. Partners are unnamed placeholders and every figure is randomly generated — no real partner, channel, or business metric appears anywhere on this page. The production version runs on BigQuery and updates daily from the cloud. — back to nicksmithfinance

Business partners pull their own cuts here instead of queuing a request with finance. Exports respect the current partner and period selection.

How the production version is built

A recreation of a tool I built and operate for Viator's third-party partner business.

1 · Warehouse. Booking and marketing data lands in Google BigQuery; scheduled SQL builds a clean daily mart across 49 partner/channel segments.
2 · Forecast engine. A six-method statistical ensemble generates the trend-adjusted reforecast, re-fit as each day of actuals arrives and blended with the human forecast of record.
3 · Serving. A Google Apps Script web app queries the mart and serves this interface to business partners — no BI licenses, loads in a browser, updates daily.
4 · Self-serve. Partners filter to their own business and export directly. Finance stopped being the bottleneck for "how are we pacing?"

Why it matters

  • Built solo, in weeks. Designed, built, and now operated by one FP&A person using AI-assisted development — no dev team, no engineering backlog, no vendor contract.
  • Used by the GM of the third-party business and the Growth & Innovation team as the daily source of truth on partner performance.
  • The full funnel in one place — items, AIV, GBV, take rate, cancel rate, and net sales, each against last year and plan.
  • Reporting time down ~80%, replacing a manual daily packet and freeing analyst capacity for actual analysis.
